Programa Totem das Cores _ Colors Totem Program
Ao longo do ano na preparação da MITC, Mostra Internacional Totem das Cores é realizado o “Programa Totem das Cores”, que promove arte, educação e cultura, estabelecendo diálogo com saberes e práticas locais.
Através dele são realizadas vivências e oficinas gratuitas junto a diferentes públicos, como crianças e jovens, inseridos em serviços de acolhimento institucional em situação de vulnerabilidade; idosos do Centro de Convivência do Idoso 1 e 2 de Socorro, além de alunos de escolas da rede educacional local. Uma obra coletiva é assim realizada a partir da reciclagem de materiais da industria têxtil local e em cerâmica. Ela é instalada durante a MITC na fachada do Museu Municipal e no seu entorno. A MITC estimula assim sustentabilidade, criatividade, e economia circular, reduzindo o lixo e o impacto ambiental.
ENGLISH : Throughout the year, in preparation for MITC, the International Totem of Colors Exhibition, the “Totem of Colors Program” is carried out, promoting art, education, and culture, establishing a dialogue with local knowledge and practices.
Through this program, free workshops and experiences are offered to diverse audiences, such as children and young people in vulnerable institutional care services; senior citizens from the Senior Citizen Center 1 and 2 in Socorro; and students from local schools. A collective artwork is created using recycled materials from the local textile and ceramic industries. It is installed during MITC on the facade of the Municipal Museum and its surroundings. MITC thus promotes sustainability, creativity, and a circular economy, reducing waste and environmental impact.
Programação de abertura_ Opening program MITC 2026
A abertura da MITC compreende uma extensa programação entre os dias 3, 4, 5 e 6 de setembro 2026, com palestra, debate de ideias, performance, premiação honorifica, cortejo da congada de São Benedito e Divino Espírito Santo de Socorro-SP, oficinas. Com a abertura oficial da exposição no sábado 5 de setembro, ela segue até o dia 31 de outubro no Museu Municipal de Socorro-SP.
ENGLISH : The opening of MITC includes an extensive program between September 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2026, with lectures, idea debates, performances, an honorary award ceremony, a procession of the Congada de São Benedito and Divino Espírito Santo de Socorro-SP, and workshops. With the official opening of the exhibition on Saturday, September 5th, it will run until October 31st at the Municipal Museum of Socorro-SP.

No segundo dia da programação de abertura da MITC teremos 2 palestras abertas para uma roda de conversa e debate de ideias. A programação desse dia acaba com uma oficina de cerâmica imersiva e ancestral.
On the first day of the MITC opening program, we will feature three talks that are open to a discussion circle and the exchange of ideas. The first day’s program concludes with an immersive, ancestral ceramics workshop. Henri Rousseau and José Antonio da Silva do not respect—voluntarily or not—the rules of perspective in relation to dimensions, color intensity, and drawing precision. Two complementary lectures.

Performance pelo coletivo Mãos de Barro em homenagem a Tônia do Embu (1950–2025), ceramista e escultora especialista em terracota. Discípula e herdeira artística do Mestre Sakai, dedicou sua vida a ensinar e a preservar a cultura popular de Embu das Artes, cidade onde construiu um legado histórico inestimável.
Ciranda em dança circular
Congada de São Benedito e Divino Espírito Santo, que levará artistas e público em cortejo até o Museu Municipal para a abertura propriamente dita da Exposição.

Presentation of the content of the texts and reflections written by Renata Felinto, Vilma Eid, and Romildo Sant’Anna, the curatorial team of MITC 2026.
Performance by the Mãos de Barro collective in homage to Tônia do Embu (1950–2025), ceramist and sculptor specializing in terracotta. A disciple and artistic heir of Master Sakai, she dedicated her life to teaching and preserving the popular culture of Embu das Artes, a city where she built an invaluable historical legacy.
Circle dance
Congada of São Benedito and Divino Espírito Santo, which will take artists and the public in a procession to the Municipal Museum for the actual opening of the Exhibition.
